Stintz – a fun, trusted, community-based platform that connects families with local help like tutors, au pairs, babysitters, pet sitters, sports coaches, companions, and more. At the same time, Stintz gives people in the community a simple way to list their skills, build a reputation, and earn doing what they love.

What is Beta testing?

Beta testing is when real people use the platform before it’s fully public. You’ll be helping us spot bugs, test new features, and make sure everything runs smoothly. It’s not just about finding glitches (there will be a few!) – it’s about telling us what works, what doesn’t, and what would make Stintz even better for you and your community.

Quick start

1. Looking for help?

Create a basic profile

  • Follow the link: https://app.stintz.com/?auth=signup
  • Select I am looking for help
  • “Sign up” with your credentials.
  • Follow the prompts and update with:
  • A profile pic
  • Name, surname, suburb, cell number (for messaging)
  • Post a job if you want to, or skip this step
  • All done!

You now have a basic profile and can search and communicate on the platform.

SAVE the Stintz shortcut on your phone as follow:

iPhone: tap the share icon, scroll down and select “Add to Home Screen”.
Android: tap the three dots, Add to Home Screen

2. Looking to earn?
Complete you provider profile

  • Follow the link: https://app.stintz.com/?auth=signup
  • Select I want to list my services
  • Sign up with your credentials
  • Follow the prompts and update with:
  • A profile pic
  • Name, surname, suburb, cell number (for messaging)
  • A bio, pricing and availability
  • All done!

Optional: Add experience and qualifications, gather reviews and share your listing.

Looking for help?

Browsing listings is always free. You only pay 7% (min R10) per transaction when you book through the platform.
This covers safe payment processing and allows for two-sided ratings.

Looking to earn?

It is free during beta testing! Need more listings? Have up to 3 listings for R65/month and 10 listings for R120/month, cancel anytime. This small fee covers platform and marketing costs.

Find Help

You can search for help without having a profile. You need to have a profile to contact the person who provides the services.

You can search as follow:

  • By category and area. I.e. Pet services (category), dog walker (subcategory), Stellenbosch (area), or Sport coach (category), tennis (filter), within 5 km of Durbanville (area).
  • You can also do a general search in the search toolbar.

How to create a listing

Follow these steps:

  • Select Create Listing from the “Provider Dashboard” or elsewhere on the platform
  • Choose your category
  • Add a catchy name that says what service you will be offering.
  • Complete your bio: This is your main advertising space – tell prospective clients more about your service, what is included (or excluded), your experience in this service, why you love doing this and anything else that is relevant that will make you stand out.
  • Location: Select where you want to provide your service. If a mobile service, select the distance you are willing to travel from your base (the radius). Select online if also available online.
  • Set your price: Per hour or per session
  • Set your general availability
  • Optional: Add experience and qualifications (can be added later)
  • Optional: Get reviews from people who have used your services before (can be done later)
  • All done!
  • NB: Add your banking details in the dashboard to receive payments.

Send a quote and get paid

Create a quote:

  • Note – you can only send a quote to someone who contacted you via the Stintz platform in messages.
  • You can generate a quote directly from messages (click on the paperclip icon) or from the Provider Dashboard.
  • A quote needs the following information:
  • The listing that you are providing a quote for
  • Add the total cost of the service, i.e. if you agreed on 3 hours of babysitting at R80 per hour that will be R240 in total. (Note – a platform fee will automatically be added and will be paid by the client. You will receive your full quoted cost, being the R240 in this example.)
  • Start date and time and the finish time (Enter the finish date if different to the start date only. The process to release the funds can only be initiated after the finish time.)
  • A short description of the service (be as clear as possible)

Getting paid:

1. Clients accepts quote

2. Clients pays 100% of the quote upfront

3. Once the job is done, either the client or the service provider marks the job as complete

4. Funds will be released 48 hours after marked complete. If no one marked the job as complete it will autocomplete 48 hours after the finish time of the job. Thereafter funds will be released 48 hours later.

Cancellation Policy:

  • Full refund if cancelled 24h+ before the job
  • 70% refund if client cancels <24h before
  • Full refund if provider cancels at any time
  • No refund after job is marked complete
